This might be a silly question, but I am new to Indian cooking. Do you simply fry chenna dal in oil to create the Pottu Kadalai, or do you have to purchase it from the store/is it already fried when you buy it? Thank you!

      Lisa,

You can purchase pottu kadalai (fried chana dal) from the store.
