Soya Gravy

Soya Gravy, Meal maker Kuruma, Nutrela Korma

Ingredients:

  • Soya chunks - 1¼ cup
  • Onion - 2 (finely chopped)
  • Tomato - 3 (finely chopped)
  • Oil - 3 tbsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Curry leaves - few
  • Water - 2 cups

Grind and make a paste of:

  • Coconut - 1 cup
  • Chilli powder - 4 tsp
  • Coriander seeds- 1tsp
  • Fennel seeds (perunjeeragam) - 1 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Peppercorns - 1/2 tsp
  • Cinnamon - 1 stick
  • Cardamom - 2
  • Cloves - 1
  • Ginger - 1 small peice
  • Garlic - 4 cloves

Recipe:

  1. Soak Soya chunks in hot water for 10 minutes, then wash it in cold water and drain excess water from soya.
  2. Heat oil in a pan. Add Onion and Tomato one by one and fry it well.
  3. Add Soya and fry it for a minute, then add the ground paste and fry till the raw smell goes.
  4. Add 2 cups of water and salt to it, allow this to boil.
  5. Then add Curry leaves and remove from heat.

Goes well with: white rice.

    Srivi…the soy gravy is simply amazing. Thanks for sharing this great recipe. It has a great flavor and taste. I made today and had with white rice and ghee…it was just out of this world. Great Recipe!!!
