Apple Jam

Ingredients:

  • Apple - 3 (Medium sized)
  • Sugar - 1 ½ cups
  • Lime juice(freshly squeezed) - 1 ½ tspn

Recipe:

  1. Cut Apple into small cubes.
  2. Boil water in a pan. Add Apple cubes and Cook for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and allow this to cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
  3. Drain the water and grind the cooked apple cubes in a blender nicely.
  4. Heat the ground apple mix in a pan. Add Sugar and Lemon juice to it. Keep the stove in medium heat.
  5. Stir this mix frequently to avoid spilling out and burning the bottom. Stir this mix till it becomes thick(like jam). This may take 20 to 25 minutes.
  6. Then remove from heat and let it cool completely. After that store the jam in sterilized jars and refrigerate.

    Hi,

    By saying 1 cup, how much of sugar are you referring here? I mean, am not sure about the size of the cup. Could you please mention it in terms of grams?

    Nirmala,
    The cup used to measure here is rice cooker measuring cup which is 6 ounces.
    1 cup of white sugar = 150 grams(approx)
    1 cup of brown sugar(tightly packed) = 165 grams (approx)
    Adjust the amount of sugar to match your taste. Let us know your feedback once you try this recipe.

    do we need to peel the apples or oil along with the skin???

    It would be better if you peel the skin. No need of Oil.
