Ingredients:
- Pori kadalai (chana) – 1 cup
- Verkadalai (peanut) – ¼ cup
- Red chilies – 20–25 (As Required. Depends on the chili you use. )
- Garlic – 10 – 15 piece ( As required)
- Curry leaves - few
- Salt – As required
Recipe:
- Heat a pan. Don’t use oil to fry.
- Fry Pori kadalai, Verkadalai (peanut), Red chilies, Garlic and Curry leaves till it become golden brown.
- Cool off all the fried items.
- Then grind all the fried items and salt.
Goes well with: Rice or Idly or Dosa.

It really looks good. I tried it out in my home. It really very tasty. I added some kadaiparuppu also along with this.
I think it may not be good with idly or dosa. I tried with rice, it had the same andhra paruppu podi taste. Thanks for the recipe.

If you add fried mustard in ghee to Paruppu podi it will add a special flavour.

I have tried this recipe.It is very tasty with gingelly oil.It is same taste we took in Andhra hotel.Thank u for giving the recipe.

Yes.. Pori kadalai is the other name for pottu kadalai. Pori kadalai is called ‘fried chana dal’ or ‘roasted gram’ in english.
